Maduro appeared blindfolded, wearing soundproof headphones, handcuffed, clasping a plastic bottle of water, wearing a Nike sweatsuit and standing aboard the US Navy’s Iwo Jima on his way to New York where he will be prosecuted on narco-terrorism charges.

President Donald Trump on Jan. 3 released the first photo of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro on board the USS Iwo Jima after his capture in an overnight U.S. military operation.

In the photo, Maduro is standing in sweatpants and sweatshirt, but more notably he is wearing some kind of eye mask to blindfold him and heavy-duty earmuffs that block out sound. The Venezuelan leader also has a bottle of water in his hand, from which he ostensibly has been drinking.
