I prefer dark mode and I used to have dark mode for my programs and File Explorer. However after installation of some zip files the mode got light. I tried to delete files in question but it didn’t help. What’s your advice? Thank you.

Otherwise, to make the symptom description clearer, you could kill explorer.exe first, e.g. stop showing Taskbar and Desktop and then use Task Manager (or a Command Prompt) to start your File Explorer window.

What are your opinions on the new and fresh File Explorer dark theme that's fully finished in the Windows 10 Insider Preview 10.0.17713.1002 (rs5_release). I t hink this finishes off the dark theme of Windows 10, because as much as I know, that was the only core app that lacked it.

However, the modernized file manager should contain either full window explorer tabs, or cascading explorer windows with drive buttons at the top. As soon as I get a chance I'll get a screenshot of the NT 4.0 file manager running on XP and post it I find the lack of configuration options disturbing !
